Project of realisation of a stitched belt dated 1191-1350.
the original bukles are from Bern (Switzerland) and the belt is from Kostanz (Germany)
this kind of belt are really common in all medieval period
Today this progect is the realisation of a stitched natural leather belt, hand stitched with linen wire.
After have stitched the leather, we will wet with water the belt to can be squeeze to hive the flat form, with a wood tool.
The extimed timing only for stitching is of about 4 hours for a 1,5 meters belt; the 2 belts are of 140 x 1,3 cm and 150 x 1,75 cm.

The buckles are made in brass in exactly dimensions as originals
The documentation is after originals from Bern and Konstanz: from this we can understand that this technic was common for at least 4 centuryes but this doesn't mean that was not known in ancient time. There was already in Roman epoc some stitched leather belt.
