12th CENTURY CHEST

Replic of a XII th century chest.

the original cames from Albert and Valent Museum of New York. originary from France, this chest was made in wood, covered with leather painted red. the enamelled decorations are gold plated with coloured enamel.

This project was realised in 2015 for a french customer. it complain 40 disk decoration enamelled like the original, all hand made and all different.

More than 4 time steps into a hoven at 750°C; this was necessary to have the correct enamelled result as the original.

The wood is 250 years old oak, covered with hand tinned horse parchemin, over 4.000 iron nails.

The reconstruction of the lock is after some other originals and engraved to have the same style decoration as the original.

All the metal parts are gold plated.
